My name is Tara Lohse and I love photography! I currently live in North Carolina, but I was born and raised on the Florida coast.  I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Studio Art, I love art and the ability to express myself through painting, photography and sculpture.  I am married and love life, travel, and taking pictures.

Photography is my favorite art form because I can capture a moment that brings out the warmth, love, and emotion in people’s lives.  I enjoy all phases of the photography shoot—planning the day, working with people, taking the shots, editing the images, and sending out the final product.  My goal is to catch those special moments that define a marriage, parenthood, and the excitement of living life. Although I reside in North Carolina, I will travel to any destination for your special day.

Meeting Tara

A few weeks ago I was honored by going to take pictures of Aimee and Marty as they were bringing home the newest member of their family Tara.  Aimee and Marty have two beautiful boys and decided a few years ago that they really felt lead by the Lord to adopt a little one from Ethopia.  God had a perfect little girl in mind- and a few weeks ago they traveled to Ethopia to meet their daugther and bring her home.  It was so fun to get to capture this special time for their families and friends.  All of their family were wearing these fun Welcome home Tara shirts- and it was so neat to get to see them meeting her.  Of course I feel connected to her already- being that we have the same name- I am so excited to watch this little one grow up- she is just precious.  IMG_7934-1IMG_8077-58IMG_7944-3IMG_7946-12IMG_7950-16IMG_7959-21IMG_8121-70_edited-1IMG_7979-21IMG_8003-38IMG_8132-75_edited-1

Baby Brantley

Kira’s Here!!!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to go take some precious shots of our good friends Mike and Susan’s beautiful daughter Kira.  Kira is just gorgeous- she was so easy to take pictures off- she is a little model already.  I am so excited that Kira is finally here- she is such a joy and I know that Mike and Susan are going to be amazing parents.  I cant wait to see what an amazing person she grows up to be.  Here are just a few of my favs from our session together…. My Three Sons

The Bakers

I had such a blast with this cute family.  Ava is just precious- and I was a rock star during our photo shoot.  Corey saw this Ava sign when she first moved to North Carolina- and knew that if she ever had a little girl that she wanted to name her Ava.  A few years later and they are pregnant with a girl and they name her Ava- perfect.  So of course we had to get some pictures of her with the Ava sign.  I love it!!! Patty and Ian’s Big Day

Family Session with the BASELS

I cant believe how fast these two little ones are growing up.  Rory is now 8 months and Reagan is a busy 2+ yr old.  I love how sweet these two sisters are together.  And I love how much they love their parents.  John and Meredith are great friends of ours and it is so fun to watch their family grow and the joy that they have when they are all together.  Here are just a few of my favs from our fun little session together…. Kristen and Trey’s Big Day!!!

Kristen and Trey’s wedding was such a fun day to be part of.  I had a blast running around with Kristen all day- she made such a gorgeous bride.  Kristen and Trey had every detail of their big day planned out to perfectly reflect them- I love being part of weddings like this.  During the ceremony Trey gave Kristen a “ring pop” instead of a wedding ring- it was all a big laugh- and then of course he gave her the real band- but it was pretty funny.  I had a blast at their ceremony too- just tons of fun.  Kristen and Trey left their reception on a boat- it was so fun!!!  Here are just a few of my favs from the day…. Kristen’s Bridal Session

Ian, Katie and Dave
